Every year parents contribute baked good to sell in the concession stand. We are in need of baked goods for our first day on Sept. 12th. PLEASE let me know if you can donate some baked goods to sell. We would really appreciate it!!

Annual Southside Picnic Reminder

Reminder!!!

The Annual Southside Picnic is on

Saturday, August 29th at 11:30 a.m.

Bring a covered dish and your lawn chair.

We will eat at 11:45 and right after the cheerleaders will be painting signs for the upcoming games and there will also be a touch football game with parents against the kids!

This is always lots of fun! The winning team captain will walk away with the team ball!!

Welcome to the South Side Vikings 2009 Season

For all the new players WELCOME

and for all the returning players, WELCOME BACK!!!!

Here we are again, the beginning of yet another fun and exciting football season!!

First of all, I think we should extend a big thank you to Norm and Marsha Stapleton who were in charge of the team for the past few years. Their son Jake completed his last South Side Season in 2008 and will this year play for the Junior High team. Good Luck Jake!!

This year the team is under new leadership with Randy Showalter as Head Coach and Denise Showalter as Team Mom. We are looking forward to your support as we under go this transition.

Last year was a great season for South Side and this year promises to be even better. We have a great group of players and cheerleaders coming into the 2009 season and we are very excited to get to work with them and help them learn the importance of teamwork and to have fun too!! We know that this will be an exciting year and hope to do our best to carry on the South Side Tradition!! We look forward to working with you - the parents, the coaches, advisors, the players and cheerleaders to make this happen!!!

Please make sure to check this blog regularly for updates on both the football team and the cheerleading squad. I will be doing my best to keep it up to date throughout the season as well as adding pictures of our players and cheerleaders, and maybe a few coaches too!!

South Side Vikings Gas and Groceries Fundraiser

South Side Vikings Fundraiser
Gas and Groceries Raffle!!

This year South Side will be doing a team fundraiser. All profit will stay with the South Side Vikings. Our fundraiser this year is a Gas and Groceries Raffle.

Each player and cheerleader is required to sell 20 - $1.00 tickets.
If you should need more tickets than the 20 you receive, or should have any questions, please contact Denise Showalter (Team Mom) at 742-7693.

We are expecting and hoping that this will be a very popular and profitable fundraiser for the team.

**2 winners will be drawn on Sat. September 12th before the South Side B Team Game. One winner will receive $250.00 worth of gift cards for Martin General Store. Another ticket will be chosen as well with that person winning a $250.00 gift certificate for Bellwood Hometown Market.

Please return all ticket stubs and money to Coach Randy Showalter, Cheerleading Advisor Lisa Miller, or Team Mom Denise Showalter

on or before Wednesday, Sept. 9th in the envelope provided.
